Product Detail
The Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas PJ IV electric bass takes inspiration from the original 1970s models. Its sleek body, with a deep cutaway, gives bassists easy access to the upper registers. The super-thin bolt-on maple speed neck, with a beautiful caramelized finish, graphite reinforcement, and a heel-mount truss rod wheel, offers smooth playability. The 12”-16” compound radius caramelized maple fingerboard flattens gradually for fast playing and features rolled edges, 20 jumbo frets, and Luminlay® side dots. It's equipped with DiMarzio® pickups - a Model J™ at the bridge for punchy sound and a Model P® in the middle for warm, fat tones. The versatile electronics include a three-band active EQ, pickup blend control, and a master volume control with a push/pull selector that bypasses the active circuit in case of a dead battery. A Charvel HiMass™ bridge, Graph Tech® TUSQ® XL nut, and open-gear tuners ensure excellent tuning stability, note punch, and sustain. This 4-string bass comes in Natural Mahogany and Satin Ferrari Red finishes with chrome hardware, cream pickup covers, and a licensed Fender® Precision Bass® headstock shape. Features include a genuine mahogany body, caramelized maple neck, DiMarzio pickups, and more. It's a right-hand bass made in MX.
Using the Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas PJ IV electric bass is a breeze. First, make sure to tune it properly using the open-gear tuners. You can adjust the truss rod easily with the heel-mount wheel if needed. To get different tones, play around with the pickup blend control and the three-band active EQ. The push/pull selector on the volume knob gives you the option to switch between active and passive modes. When the battery dies, just pull the volume knob to bypass the active circuit and keep playing. For maintenance, keep the bass clean by wiping it with a soft cloth after each use. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. Check the strings regularly and replace them when they start to wear out. Also, make sure to tighten the bridge and other hardware occasionally to keep everything in place.
