The Soundiron Alto Xylophone is a meticulously sampled Orff - tuned percussion instrument, commonly found in elementary music classrooms. Measuring just over two feet long, it offers a warm, plunky tone with a fast decay. It features 13 rosewood bars arranged in a diatonic C major scale from C4 - A5. We used felt mallets to record each note, along with glisses and percussive knocks. Additionally, we sampled two soprano xylophones an octave higher: one with 13 notes (C5 - A6) having a rounded, playful timbre, and the other with 12 notes (C5 - G6) with a crisp, biting tone, played using mallets and wooden cube hammers. All three xylophones were recorded in a dry studio with two microphone positions, offering 10 round robin and up to 14 velocity layers per note. We've enhanced these natural wooden tones with 20 ambient organic soundscapes and 20 custom FX presets for your creative endeavors. This xylophone fits seamlessly into any genre, from horror to jazz, and can add acoustic percussive accents to your compositions. The Kontakt interface comes with a suite of automation - ready sound - shaping controls, giving you full creative freedom. It includes controls for swell, attack, release, and more. There are also 20 unique sound - designed custom FX presets, an adaptable LFO system, 12 selectable filters, a customizable arpeggiator, a key and scale lock system, and a modular FX rack panel with 18 DSP effect modules. The reverb effect features 99 different room impulses and 40 custom FX impulses, and there are factory presets to get you started.
Using the Soundiron Alto Xylophone is easy. First, make sure you have the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later installed. Once you load the instrument in Kontakt, you can start exploring the various sound - shaping controls on the interface. Adjust parameters like swell, attack, and release to create the perfect sound for your composition. To use the custom FX presets, simply select the one you like from the available options. When it comes to playing the xylophones, you can choose different mallets and hammers as described in the product details to get different tones. Remember, the free Kontakt Player only runs the library in a time - limited 'demo mode', so it's best to use the full version. For maintenance, keep your software up - to - date to ensure the best performance. If you want to use the sample directories in other wav - compatible software, you can do so as they are unlocked. Navigate through the Kontakt database using the standard File browser tab or the Quick load tools for easy access and organization.
