Product Detail

UFO Tone is an amazing multi-sampled metallic tuned percussion library. It features a special hang drum that seems to come from another world. At Soundiron, we're drawn to rare, weird, and mysterious items, and this drum fits the bill perfectly. We found it half - buried in a field, as if dropped by extraterrestrials. After cleaning it up, we recorded it at St. Paul's Church in San Francisco, the same place for some of our other great samples. We used a mallet to record its eight tongues. A close stereo pair of Neumann studio mics gave a dry and present sound, while a second stereo pair 15 feet away captured an open, spacious far sound. You can create your own unique sonic blends by soloing, combining, or layering different articulations, tongues, and mic positions. Steel tongue drums are known for their smooth fundamental tone, complex harmonics, lush overtones, and long, mellow sustain. With UFO Tone, you'll be taken to a whole new sonic universe. The Kontakt interface offers a suite of automation - ready sound - shaping controls for total creative freedom. There are controls for swell, attack, release, and more. We've also included 20 unique custom FX presets. The adaptable LFO system, filters, customizable arpeggiator, and key/scale lock system all add to the creative options. The modular FX rack panel has 18 DSP effect modules, and the Reverb effect includes a great variety of impulse responses. This library is designed for Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later. It's a standard Kontakt open - format library. While the free Kontakt Player has limited support, you can use the sample directories in other wav - compatible software. Key features include two master NKI instrument banks, tongue drum mallet articulations in 2 positions, 20 ambience patches, high - quality samples, and more.

Using UFO Tone is easy. First, make sure you have the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later installed on your system that meets the requirements like Windows 7 or higher, Mac OSX 10.9 or higher, a dual - core CPU, and at least 2GB of RAM. When you load the library into Kontakt, you can start exploring the sound - shaping controls. Play around with the swell, attack, and release settings to change how the sound starts and fades. The articulation switching lets you choose different ways the drum is played. Combine different mic positions and articulations to create your own unique sounds. You can also use the included custom FX presets to add some cool effects right away. For the LFO system, select the shape, target parameter, speed, etc., to add movement to your sound. When using the filters, assign them to different controls like velocity or mod wheel to add more expression. The arpeggiator is great for creating interesting patterns, so adjust the direction, timing, and swing to your liking. Remember, the free Kontakt Player only runs the library in a limited 'demo mode', so for full functionality, use the full version. Keep your system updated and your hard drive in good condition for smooth performance. If you use the sample directories in other wav - compatible software, make sure to follow the software's import instructions. Have fun creating out - of - this - world music with UFO Tone!
