Product Detail

Renowned producer Michael Brauer raves about the MagicDeathEye (MDE) for its ability to make vocals and guitars warm and present. The new mastering version stands out among other mastering compressors due to its unique treatment of the midrange. This product is the result of a fruitful collaboration with MagicDeathEye, offering a faithful emulation of their stereo master buss compressor and equalizer. The stereo compressor has two mono compressor circuits with extra features for mastering and buss compression. The new version includes an added EQ section with two boost - only bands, each having two frequency selections. The EQ is integrated into the Variable Mu tube gain structure, providing a unique sound. There's also a two - frequency low cut to tighten up bass. The boost of the bands can be split 5dB or 3dB over five steps. Compared to the mono MDE plugin, apart from the second channel already added in the'mono' version, this stereo version has a different compression curve and an added EQ section. Usually, the mono compressor is for individual tracks, while the stereo one, with its gentle compression curve and additional EQ options, is perfect for the master buss. The software plugin also has extra features. The high - frequency EQ can be applied to the full stereo field, mid, or side signal. An optional elliptical filter on the side signal in the low - frequency range is useful for vinyl mastering. The harmonic distortion can be adjusted from 0 to 100 percent, with 50 percent matching the hardware level. Input and output gain can be linked, and there's an option for 2 - or 4 - fold oversampling. This tube compressor has its own unique feel while delivering the smooth and musical MagicDeathEye signature sound. It's a great chance to compare it with the mono version. Available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX Native formats, and requires OSX 10.7 or higher on Mac.

Using this DDMF MagicDeathEye Stereo Mastering Compressor & EQ is easy. First, decide whether to use it on individual tracks or the master buss. For individual tracks, you can go for the mono compressor. If you're working on the master buss, the stereo compressor is your best choice. When adjusting the EQ, play around with the two boost - only bands and their frequency selections to get the sound you want. You can also use the two - frequency low cut to control the bass. For vinyl mastering, don't forget to try the optional elliptical filter on the side signal in the low - frequency range. You can adjust the harmonic distortion level according to your preference, with 50 percent being the same as the hardware unit. Link the input and output gain if you need. And if you want better quality, you can choose 2 - or 4 - fold oversampling. As for maintenance, keep your software updated to enjoy the best performance. Make sure your computer meets the system requirements, which are OSX 10.7 or higher on Mac and available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX Native formats.
