Product Detail

The RoCoder's name is reminiscent of traditional Vocoders, but it's far from ordinary. Rob Papen's latest creation is packed with new and creative features. Alongside a 32 - band Vocoder, it offers an Additive mode, a combined Vocoder + Additive mode, Noise mode, Tuned Noise mode, and a Tuned Comb mode. These unique modes let you craft a wide variety of sounds beyond the top - notch Vocoder tones. RoCoder also has stereo panning per band, a well - known XY pad, an extensive modulation matrix, and built - in high - quality FX like Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Stereo Delay, and a Reverb section. It's a powerful new vocoder - type FX that unlocks a whole new sonic realm. In Vocoder mode, it can use up to 32 bands with a built - in carrier synthesizer. The Additive mode generates 32 bands of harmonics using sine waveforms for atonal sound FX. The combined mode lets you blend the two for unique, though CPU - intensive, sounds. In Noise, Tuned Noise, and Tuned Comb modes, MIDI keyboard notes create the bands. The Tuned Comb mode is great for rhythmic sounds but less effective on vocals. The Vocoder Input Carrier mode uses the'side audio input' as the carrier instead of the built - in synthesizer. System requirements include MacOS 10.12 Sierra - 11 Big Sur (Intel only) and Windows 7 and above. Plugin formats are AAX Native, AU, VST2, VST3 (64 - bit on Mac) and AAX Native (64 - bit), VST2 (32 & 64 - bit), VST3 (32 & 64 - bit) on Windows.

Using the Rob Papen RoCoder is easy! First, choose the mode you want. If you're after classic vocoder sounds, go for the Vocoder mode. Just set up the number of bands and let the built - in carrier synthesizer do its thing. For something different, try the Additive mode. It'll generate unique atonal sounds with sine waveforms. You can even use keyboard control for more creative options. The combined mode is great for mixing things up, but be aware it uses more CPU power. In Noise, Tuned Noise, and Tuned Comb modes, simply play notes on your MIDI keyboard to create the bands. Remember, the Tuned Comb mode works best on rhythmic sounds like drums, not so well on vocals. When using the Vocoder Input Carrier mode, make sure to connect your side audio input as it'll be your carrier. As for system requirements, ensure your computer meets the Mac or Windows specifications mentioned. And for plugin formats, pick the one that suits your setup. There's no special maintenance needed, just keep your software up - to - date to enjoy all the features smoothly.
