Product Detail

JBass features samples of a four - string Fender Custom Shop Jazz bass with flatwound strings. The first Jazz Bass came out in 1960 to go with Fender's Jazzmaster guitar. It had a longer and narrower neck than previous Fender models, aiming to mimic the feel of a stand - up bass and offering unique mid - tones for jazz musicians. The Fender Jazz Bass sound is key in many music genres like funk, disco, reggae, blues, heavy metal, and jazz fusion, and is widely used today. At the interface bottom, you can control the instrument. In play mode, pick from different playing techniques like finger - playing, using a pick, or palm - muting. Legato mode lets you decide on hammer ons, slides, sustains, etc., and you can set the legato distance. You can also adjust the release volume, turn on or off the multiband compressor and cabinet simulation, edit the parametric EQ's bass and treble, and set the sensitivity for full dynamic control. JBass comes with the UVI Workstation 3 sample player (requires v3.1.6 or later) for free, so no need to buy an expensive sampler. Features include 1.72GB uncompressed, 750MB compressed in lossless flac format with around 2500 samples. There are 6 velocity layers for sustain (12 samples per note with two round robins), 15 velocities for release, hammer on samples, pick and muted samples, random string noises, harmonics, ghost notes, and string hits samples. Advanced UVI scripting offers a simple yet powerful interface and advanced features.

Using JBass is easy. First, make sure you have the UVI Workstation 3 (version 3.1.6 or later) installed as it comes with JBass for free. Once installed, you can start exploring the instrument. To control how the bass plays, head to the bottom of the interface. In play mode, pick the playing style that suits your music, whether it's using your fingers, a pick, or muting the strings with your palm. For legato playing, decide what effects you want like hammer ons or slides, and set the distance for the legato effect. Adjust the release volume to get the right sound when you let go of a string. You can also turn on or off the compressor and cabinet simulation to change the overall tone. Edit the bass and treble in the EQ to fine - tune the sound. When it comes to maintenance, since JBass is a digital product, just keep your computer system up - to - date. Also, make sure to store your project files safely in case you need to access them later. Don't forget to regularly check for updates to the UVI Workstation 3 to enjoy the best performance and new features.
