Product Detail

Cherry Audio's KR-55C is an amazing software emulation that combines the best features of Korg's 'Rhythm 55' KR-55A and KR-55B from the post-punk era. It comes with all 240 factory patterns, intros, and fills from both models, plus 200 original patterns and kits covering a wide range of genres. The user interface changes based on the selected model and has extra pages. It features an X0X-style 16-button layout for step - editing and pattern programming, and a song mode for chaining up to 99 patterns. Unlike sample - based instruments, it emulates tones through analog modeling. The Instrument Edit panel allows for detailed parameter editing, and the Mixer and Effects sections offer separate sound processing with features like panning, overdrive, and reverb. It also has a bus compressor and limiter. The KR - 55C offers DAW - friendly features such as auto - sync and drag - and - drop MIDI export. Korg's original 'Rhythm 55' was a significant advancement in 1979, used by legendary producer Daniel Miller in early synth - pop albums.

Using the Cherry Audio KR - 55C is quite straightforward. First, select whether you want the A or B model in the user interface. You can then start exploring the 240 factory patterns or the 200 original ones. To edit patterns, use the familiar X0X - style 16 - button layout. For creating a song, switch to the song mode and chain up to 99 patterns. When it comes to sound editing, use the Instrument Edit panel to adjust tuning, EQ, and other parameters. In the Mixer and Effects sections, you can process each sound separately. For example, you can set panning, add overdrive, or apply reverb. Remember to save your settings regularly. As for maintenance, keep your software updated to ensure the best performance. Also, make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for smooth operation. When using it with a DAW, take advantage of the auto - sync and drag - and - drop MIDI export features for seamless integration.
