Punch was already a unique and beloved drum machine at its first release, using drum synthesis/samples and a built - in pattern sequencer to trigger beats. Now, Punch 2 takes it further! It adds more drum synthesis models and a brand - new main screen for quick drum kit creation. The interface and synthesis sound options are greatly expanded. You can import your own REX files and samples to make loops, map them to individual pads, and creatively combine them with the built - in sounds and pattern sequencer. Further editing of REX files or sliced pads is possible with filters, envelopes, and routing into 4 FX modules, and you can even use granular synthesis. There's a new 'Master' section with EQ, Compressor, Limiter, Stereo/mono split filter, and layout mixer. Plus, it comes with a vast library of included sounds. Note: Punch 2 also includes Punch - BD.
Using the Rob Papen Punch 2 is easy. First, you can start by using the built - in pattern sequencer to trigger beats with the pre - made drum synthesis and samples. To create new drum kits, just use the new main screen. If you have your own REX files or samples, you can import them. Map these files or sample slices to individual pads and then combine them with the sounds inside the machine using the pattern sequencer. For further editing, use the filters, envelopes and route them into the FX modules. You can even try granular synthesis on the REX and Slice pads. When it comes to the 'Master' section, play around with the EQ, Compressor, Limiter, Stereo/mono split filter and layout mixer to get the perfect sound. Remember, Punch 2 comes with Punch - BD, which will also be installed. As for maintenance, keep your software updated to ensure the best performance and always save your projects regularly to avoid data loss.
