Product Detail

The gajdica is an ancient instrument preserved in Lipany, a rural village in Slovakia's Šariš region. This single - reed instrument has a wooden pipe made of hazel, elder, cherry, plum or maple, with a cow horn at the lower end. There are six holes on the top of the melodic reed and a seventh on the back. Originally used for playing short pastoral motifs, shepherd songs, and as a shepherding signal and dance accompaniment in the Šariš region, its sound is penetrating, rich, and intense. Its playing style with circular breathing and accents on melodic notes makes it similar to a one - piped bagpipe, and a special fast - played vibrato gives it a unique character. It was played by Veronika Vitazkova, a multi - instrumentalist and folk instruments expert. Our engineers used seven phase - coherent microphone configurations to capture the 'Stage A' ambience at Synchron Stage. All signals are separate channels in the Vienna Synchron Player, and a wide range of presets offer great starting points for sound creation. The gajdica's natural sampled tones are diatonic, but the software provides chromatic keyboard mapping and chromatic legato sampling. Note that due to the non - chromatic nature of the instrument, not all keyboard - played compositions can be performed by a musician. The Standard Library has 3,115 samples, a 292.2 MB download size, and a 968.2 MB installed size. The Full Library has 4,984 samples, a 476.4 MB download size, and a 1.7 GB installed size.

Using this gajdica software is easy. First, open the Vienna Synchron Player and load the gajdica library. You can choose between the Standard and Full Libraries based on your needs. Once loaded, use the presets as a starting point for your sound creation. Experiment with different channels in the mixer section to get the sound you want. When it comes to composition, keep in mind that because the gajdica is a non - chromatic instrument in nature, not all notes on the keyboard can be played by a real gajdica musician. So, try to work around its limitations for a more authentic sound. As for maintenance, make sure your software is always up - to - date. Check for updates regularly to ensure the best performance and access to new features. Also, keep your computer's system requirements in mind to avoid any glitches while using the software.
