When you're done playing, always keep your guitar in a case to protect it from dust and damage. Wipe down the strings and body regularly with a soft cloth to maintain its appearance. Check the truss rod occasionally to ensure the neck is in good shape. And remember, if you're not using the guitar for a long time, loosen the strings a bit to relieve stress on the neck.
