Product Detail

Orb Trumpets is an innovative release crafted entirely from live performances. Recorded at Orb Studios in Austin, TX, it uses phrase - derived samples to take our Adventure - style programming to a more natural - sounding level. Programming it is a bit tricky, but the resulting fluidity is amazing. Just like Musical Sampling's large - scale orchestral releases, the Adventure - style programming needs no keyswitching. For quick notes, play within the 1 - 100 velocity range. For longer notes, use 101 - 127 for a broader attack. Switching between the two mimics how brass players shape notes in phrases. The tuning is done by hand to taste, not with destructive software, keeping natural intonation biases for a more natural sound. Features include a two - trumpet section, keyswitch - less 'Adventure' programming, two velocity - sensitive attack types, performance - sourced sampling, tight studio recordings, hand - tuned sound, adjustable reverb, and 48khz 24 - bit recording. Patches include Adventure Workhorse, Adventure (FFF Sus Layer), Stac & Stacmo (VEL Switching), Stac & Stacmo (MW Switching), and No Filter versions. The Adventure Workhorse is great for most trumpet writing. The Adventure (FFF Sus Layer) adds a sustain layer at high volume. Release notes quickly for Stac & Stacmo patches. In VEL Switching, mod wheel controls dynamics and different velocities trigger different samples. In MW Switching, velocity controls dynamics and mod wheel switches between sample types. The No Filter patches are for sensitive DAW setups. This library is dry but works well with external reverb.

Using Orb Trumpets is a breeze. When you want to play quick notes, keep your velocity between 1 - 100. For longer and more pronounced notes, use a velocity of 101 - 127. There's no need to worry about keyswitching as the Adventure - style programming takes care of that. For the Stac & Stacmo patches, just release the notes fast to get those special release samples. With the VEL Switching patch, use the mod wheel to control the dynamics. Playing with velocities 1 - 100 will give you staccatissimo samples, and 101 - 127 will play staccato samples. In the MW Switching patch, use the velocity to control the dynamics and the mod wheel to switch between staccatissimo and staccato. The No Filter patches are there if your DAW setup starts acting up, like having CPU spikes. As for reverb, this library is recorded dry, so you can add an early reflection plugin and then pipe it into your favorite hall reverb for a great sound. Just make sure your software is up - to - date to avoid any technical glitches, and you'll be making amazing trumpet music in no time.
