Product Detail

The Soundiron Canjo is a unique, homemade single-stringed fretted instrument. Crafted from a wood stick, string tuner, and a tin can, it produces a twangy, metallic tone that blends the sounds of a banjo and mountain dulcimer. You can hold it like a guitar or play it on a table or lap. With a diatonically fretted 12-note range, it's perfect for playing folk melodies on the porch or around a campfire. We've pushed its sonic limits, capturing various articulations like picked plucks, smooth plucks, harsh plucks, slides, bowed sustains, staccatos, and spiccatos. We also created ambient soundscapes, pads, and drones from the source content for more versatility. This canjo can play traditional Americana or mimic a brittle viola, cheap slide guitar, or melancholy erhu. The Kontakt interface offers automation-ready sound - shaping controls for total creative freedom, including swell, attack, release, and more. There are 20 custom FX presets, an adaptable LFO system, 12 types of filters, a customizable arpeggiator, and a key and scale lock system. The modular FX rack panel has 18 DSP effect modules, and the reverb effect includes 99 room impulses and 40 custom FX impulses. It's designed for Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later. The sample directories are unlocked for use in other wav - compatible software. Features include an open - format NKI instrument bank, various canjo articulations, 20 ambience patches, 24 - bit/48 - kHz uncompressed PCM wav samples, 22 custom presets, 859 stereo WAV files, and 801 MB installed size.

Using the Soundiron Canjo is easy. First, make sure you have Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later installed. Load the library into Kontakt using the standard File browser tab and import it into the Quickload window. When playing, you can hold it like a guitar or place it on a table or your lap. You can create different sounds by using the various articulations like plucking, sliding, or bowing. To customize the sound, use the controls on the Kontakt interface. You can adjust the swell, attack, release, and other parameters to get the effect you want. There are also 20 custom FX presets to add more variety. For the LFO system, select the shape, target parameter, speed, etc., to add modulation to your sound. When using the filters, assign them to different parameters like velocity or mod wheel. The arpeggiator lets you create arpeggios with customizable settings. The key and scale lock system helps you stay within common scales and keys for easier composition. As for maintenance, since it's a virtual instrument, there's no physical maintenance required. But make sure to keep your Kontakt software up - to - date to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. And always back up your library files to avoid data loss.
