Horror Sci - Fi Effects
Taking inspiration from artist Jon Rose's tonal work, we journeyed to the desolate parts of south Texas. There, we used a cello bow on old barbed - wire fences. The result? A collection of delightfully spooky sounds, ideal for your next sci - fi or horror score. Our cello bow was so worn out from these hardcore recordings that it's now in shreds!
Processed Patches
As a great bonus, we've processed these recordings by adjusting speed, EQ, and timbre. This created 14 processed PAD patches perfect for creating creepy or tense sound beds. These patches loop smoothly, and with a low - pass filter mapped to the mod wheel, you can instantly change the timbre. We also included 5 percussive/impact patches, great for accents or trailer hits.
Main Patches
The 3 main patches feature unique one - shot recordings with varying lengths and timbres. The drones patch has deep, grisly sounds. The Whines patch has high - pitched scream - like tones. The Hits patch contains sounds of metal fence poles and wire hit with the bow during recording, with 6 unique hits and 4 x RR.
Controls
The GUI is highly customizable. You can directly adjust the Lo, Mid, and Hi EQ, pitch, reverb (with 13 original IRs), and use the GRIT knob for distortion.
Using these sounds is easy. First, pick the patch you need for your project. For creating a spooky atmosphere, the processed PAD patches are a great choice. Just turn the mod wheel to change the timbre and create different effects. The main patches, like the drones, whines, and hits, can add unique elements to your score. When it comes to controls, play around with the EQ settings to adjust the sound frequencies. The pitch control can change the note height, and the reverb gives a sense of space. Use the GRIT knob sparingly to add distortion. As for maintenance, since it's a digital product, there's no physical upkeep. But make sure to keep your software updated for the best performance. And always back up your files in case something goes wrong.
