Product Detail

Discover the Woodentines, a remarkable collection of wooden lamellaphones crafted by master instrument inventor Bart Hopkin. This set features 3 unique instruments - the Bamboo Idiomount, Big Wooden Kalimba, and Woodkal - each with distinct shapes and mechanics, yet sharing a warm, wooden essence. Plus, there's a special bonus instrument, the Piezo Tongues. We've included a variety of playable articulations and multiple microphone/channel options for complete freedom. Along with natural acoustic articulations, we've added sound - designed textures, pads, and tones to spark your imagination. With easy - to - use layer mixing, performance tools, and special effects, this collection offers a wide and flexible palette of musical colors. The Bamboo Idiomount is a round, mbira - like bowl with a crisp, rich sound. The Big Wooden Kalimba has a lush, dreamy tone with deep bass. The Woodkal produces a tight, raspy pluck sound. The Piezo Tongues create a unique 'fwip' or 'pop' sound. We've sampled tine plucks and hand slaps with two stereo mic positions. There are also 20 custom FX presets and ambient content for total creative control. The Kontakt interface offers automation - ready sound - shaping controls, an adaptable LFO system, 12 filters, a customizable arpeggiator, a key and scale lock system, and a modular FX rack with 18 DSP effect modules. The reverb effect includes 99 different spaces and 40 custom FX impulses. It comes with factory presets to get you started. This library features 6 master presets, 20 custom presets, 4 unique hand - crafted instruments, percussive effects, 10,280 stereo samples, and is 1.50 GB installed in 24 - bit, 48 kHz stereo lossless NCW format. It's licensed for the free Kontakt Player and compatible with Komplete Kontrol and S - Series Keyboard Controllers. Buying it gets you a cross - grade discount for the full Kontakt version.

Using the Woodentines collection is a breeze. First, if you're new to it, start by exploring the different instruments included - the Bamboo Idiomount, Big Wooden Kalimba, Woodkal, and the Piezo Tongues. Each has its own unique sound, so take some time to play around with them to get a feel for their tones. When it comes to the playable articulations, try out different plucking and tapping techniques to create a wide range of sounds. For the microphone/channel options, you can switch between the available positions (like internal, close, and room) to find the sound that suits your needs best. The sound - designed textures, pads, and tones are great for adding a creative touch. You can layer them with the natural acoustic sounds to come up with new sonic combinations. In the Kontakt interface, use the automation - ready sound - shaping controls to adjust things like swell, attack, and release. The LFO system gives you more control over the sound's modulation. You can play around with the shape, speed, and intensity. The filters are also very useful. You can assign them to different parameters like velocity or key position. The arpeggiator is a fun feature. Use the velocity table and control the direction, timing, and swing to create interesting patterns. The key and scale lock system is handy for both melodic composition and live performance. It helps you stay within common scales and keys. For the FX rack, start with the factory presets to get an idea of what's possible. Then, you can customize it by assigning different DSP effect modules in the available slots. The reverb effect can really transform the sound, so try out the different impulse responses for different spaces. One thing to note is that this library requires online serial number registration through the Native Access app. Also, make sure your system meets the requirements for using the Kontakt Player or the full version of Kontakt. Have fun exploring and creating with the Woodentines collection!
