Product Detail

The AkousKontr is a German 4/4 four - string Upright bass. It's recorded from both the pickup and a pair of Electrostatic Microphones. On the interface's top, you can easily control the instrument's behavior. In Legato mode, choose whether playing legato triggers Hammer ons, slides, sustains, or has no effect. The legato distance sets the max interval for legato application. Sensitivity sets the min volume for velocity 1, giving access to desired dynamics. The release volume is the sound when releasing a string during a note. You can adjust the volume of the microphone and pickup recordings right from the interface. AkousKontr comes with the free UVI Workstation 3 (requires v3.1.6 or later), so no need to buy an expensive sampler. It features 779MB uncompressed, 325MB lossless flac - compressed samples (around 1710). There are two microphone positions, 5 Velocity layers for sustain with 2 round - robins per note, about 13 release velocities, Hammer on samples, an advanced Vibrato effect via modulation wheel, slide effects, Harmonics, ghost notes, string hits, percussion samples, and advanced UVI scripting for a simple yet powerful interface and advanced features.

Using the AkousKontr is a breeze. First, make sure you have the UVI Workstation 3 version 3.1.6 or later installed as it comes with the product for free. When you start using it, head to the top of the interface. Here, you can play around with different settings. For the legato mode, think about what kind of effect you want when playing legato - like hammer ons or slides. Set the legato distance based on how far apart you want the legato to work. Adjust the sensitivity according to the minimum volume you need for velocity 1, which will let you get the dynamics you like. Don't forget to play with the release volume to hear the sound when you let go of a string during a note. You can also change the volume of the microphone and pickup recordings to get the perfect sound. As for maintenance, keep your software updated to make sure you get the best performance. And that's it! Enjoy making great music with your AkousKontr.
