This amazing pack features four top - notch instruments: Steel Drum, Spacedrum, Hand Pan, and Tank Drum. Each instrument comes with an original - faithful preset and several cool variants. Steel drums, originating from Trinidad and tied to calypso music, are a blend of 'double second', 'tenor', 'double guitar', and 'triple cello' types, covering 4 octaves. The Spacedrum, a new Hand Pan variant with a thirteen - note chromatic model, offers exciting new possibilities for musicians. Both the Spacedrum and Hand Pan have presets for hand and mallet playing, extended to 4 octaves. Marc Guilliou from Metal Sounds, a Spacedrum creator, helped test the Pianoteq steelpans version for authenticity. The Tank drum, made of thick gas - tank metal, has a 3½ - octave range in Pianoteq. The Pianoteq physical model has been enhanced to create the unique timbre of steelpans with 'blooming' overtones. Two special parameters, blooming energy and blooming inertia, are great for adjusting the sound. Thanks to the physical model, this Steelpans collection offers excellent playability and versatility.
Using the Modartt Pianoteq Steelpans Instrument Pack is easy. First, choose the instrument you like from the four available: Steel Drum, Spacedrum, Hand Pan, or Tank Drum. For each instrument, you can start with the preset that's faithful to the original and then try out the different variants. When adjusting the sound, play around with the blooming energy and blooming inertia parameters to get the unique timbre of steelpans. If you're playing the Spacedrum or Hand Pan, you can switch between hand - playing and mallet - playing presets. As for maintenance, since it's a software pack, make sure your device has enough storage space and keep your Pianoteq software updated.
