Product Detail
Dizi is a Chinese transverse bamboo flute. What sets it apart is the bulrush membrane that vibrates with airflow, producing a uniquely clear and bright sound. It's an extremely expressive instrument, capable of playing complex solo parts with techniques like rapid finger - popping, tongue - flutter, and airflow vibrato. In Loong's Whisper, we present Dizi Qudi, ideal for solo works. During sample recording, 10 different microphones were used at various positions to capture the Dizi's spatial and reverb characteristics. These were mixed into four adjustable channels (Yin, Yang, and far stereo) to create various tones. With control of airflow and fingers, Dizi has a wide range of performances such as mordent, finger pole popping, and trill, all triggerable in the Loong's Whisper software. The software features real - recorded expressions controllable via MIDI CC for realistic tone changes. It can perform glissando at adjustable speeds using real - recorded samples and synthesis. The vibrato engine based on real samples makes the vibrato both realistic and adjustable. Our self - developed sampling engine offers better sound quality and advanced technologies. We've recorded legato sounds at two speeds and specific 'popping legato' for Chinese Dizi. The convolution reverb lets you simulate playing at famous Chinese sites. An effect rack with a compressor, EQ, chorus, and ping - pong delay allows for flexible sound creation. The pattern library in Tear of Land helps you realize your musical ideas easily and you can create your own patterns by dragging MIDI clips.
Using Loong's Whisper is a breeze. First, open the software. You can adjust the sound field by changing the volumes of the four channels (Yin, Yang, and far stereo) to get the tone you like. To trigger different Dizi performances such as mordent or trill, just use the software controls. For glissando, select the speed you want. The vibrato engine gives you realistic and adjustable vibrato effects. When using the pattern library, you can either use the pre - made patterns or create your own by dragging in MIDI clips. Regarding the convolution reverb, you can choose different virtual locations to simulate where the Dizi is being played. As for the effect rack, play around with the compressor, EQ, chorus, and ping - pong delay to create unique sounds. Just make sure your computer meets the software's requirements to avoid any glitches. There's no special maintenance needed for this virtual instrument, but keep your software updated to enjoy the best performance.
