Product Detail

Dive into the world of Renaissance music with our amazing Historic Winds Pack. It brings crumhorns from the acclaimed VI Historic Winds II Collection to Stage A of Synchron Stage Vienna. Re - edited and optimized for the Vienna Synchron Player, it offers more flexibility and ease of use for a quick and creative workflow. The crumhorn, named from the German 'Krummhorn' (meaning 'bent horn'), has a bent lower part. Its cylindrical pipe has seven finger - holes in front and one at the back. Unlike recorders, it has a double - reed mouthpiece like the bassoon, producing a bright and 'nasal' timbre typical of Renaissance music. This instrument, a staple of the Renaissance, faded in the Baroque era but was rediscovered in the 20th - century Folk, Medieval, and contemporary music. Composer Mauricio Kagel used four crumhorns in his 'Music for Renaissance Instruments'. Available in various sizes with a one - octave range, this pack contains recordings of five different crumhorns spanning soprano, alto, tenor, bass, and double bass registers. The Synchron Player's integrated convolution reverb adds the outstanding ambience of the 540 m2 (5,813 sq.ft.) main hall of Synchron Stage Vienna to dry samples in real - time. Expertly crafted mixer presets ensure a production - ready sound that blends well with Studio Woodwinds and other Synchron Series products. Articulations include soprano, alto, tenor, bass, great bass crumhorns, staccato, short portato, various repetitions, sustained notes, legato (normal and fast), and fast repetitions between 140 and 200 BPM.

Using this Historic Winds Pack is easy. First, load it into the Vienna Synchron Player. Once loaded, you can explore different articulations to add variety to your music. You can start with simple sustained notes and then move on to staccato or fast repetitions. When using the convolution reverb, you can adjust the settings to get the perfect ambience of the Synchron Stage Vienna main hall for your dry samples. The mixer presets are already well - crafted, but you can also tweak them to place the crumhorns exactly where you want on the stage. As for maintenance, since this is a digital product, there's no physical maintenance needed. But make sure your computer meets the system requirements for the Vienna Synchron Player to avoid any glitches. Also, keep your software updated to enjoy the best performance.
