The Upright is an amazing plucked legato upright bass library for Kontakt Full. We debated creating this library for a while, worried our legato guitar sampling techniques wouldn't work well. But we were wrong, and the result is fantastic. The Master Legato patch offers natural legato up to a major 3rd, slide - plucks up to an octave, and slide no - plucks up to a major 2nd, with slide speed controllable via CC. It's highly expressive for various settings. The Performance Sustains patch, made from curated phrases, boosts tone, consistency, and fluidity. The Body Perc has slaps, thumps, knocks, fret slides, and room tone, mapped below the playable range. You can use both patches at once for jamming. Features include legato plucked upright bass, three velocity - activated legato articulations, 48kHz / 24 - bit recording, and 692 MB compressed NCW format. Patches are Master Legato, Bonus Beefy Legato, Performance Sustains, Body Perc & Room Tone, and Fret Slides. The Master Legato patch has three velocity - activated articulations. Velocities 41 - 90 use natural plucked legato up to a major 3rd. Velocities 1 - 40 give slide - into - pluck articulation up to an octave. Up to a major 2nd, it activates slide no - pluck articulation, and you can control slide speed with the modwheel. The Bonus Beefy Legato captures legato intervals up to a major 2nd in an aggressive way, great for attitudinal walking bass lines, and slide speed is controllable with the mod wheel.
Using this upright bass library is easy. First, install it in your Kontakt Full software. For the Master Legato patch, just play notes and the different articulations will activate based on the velocity you use. If you want to control the slide speed, use the modwheel. The Performance Sustains patch will enhance your playing with its curated phrases, so just let it run in the background. For the Body Perc, it adds a lot of extra flavor. Just play the notes mapped below the normal range. When using both patches at once, have fun jamming and experimenting with different combinations.
