Using Quadral 3 is easy. First, if you're starting fresh, pick one of the over 300 factory presets from the 6 categories in the Preset Browser. This will give you a good starting point for your music. If you want to get creative right away, you can hit the Random button to generate different sound combinations. You can use the four quadrants to combine different sounds. Each quadrant has its own arpeggiator and filter, so play around with the 39 built - in filter types to get the tone you like. The XY Pad is very useful. By default, it controls the volume between the 4 layers, but you can customize each axis to affect different parameters like filters or some FX options. You can also add rhythmic motion to it, which adjusts the axes in a tempo - synced way. Don't forget to limit the X and Y range to create new patterns. The ARP system allows you to set up dynamic arpeggiator, gliss, and strum patterns. You can adjust things like rhythm, direction, swing, and randomization. If you want a monophonic legato/portamento effect, use the Legato feature and adjust the pitch bend speed. The Macro knobs on the sides of the XY Pad can be assigned to change layer sound - shaping controls or FX rack plugins. For a truly unique sound, import your own WAV files using the user sample import feature. Mix these with the 16 categories of sounds and 36 wavetables. When you're happy with your patch, save it using the Preset Browser or share it with other users. To enhance your sound, open the FX rack panel and load up on DSP effects, especially the convolution reverb with over 100 custom spaces. Note that this library is designed for Native Instruments Kontakt 6.2.2 or later. The free Kontakt Player can only run it in limited 'demo mode', but you can use the sample directories in other wav - compatible software. There's no special maintenance required for this virtual library, just make sure your Kontakt software is up - to - date for the best performance.
