Synchron Timpani II features the five timpani from the Synchron Percussion II Collection, played with soft mallets. These are commonly used in late romantic - era pieces and film music. Our five Adams Artist Alpha timpani (20', 23', 26', 29', and 32') cover two octaves. Single hits were recorded in open and muted variants, with 12 dynamic layers and 4 round - robins for single strokes. There are also various types of rolls. 'Static' rolls let you smoothly shift from pianissimo to fortissimo, while 'Dynamic' rolls have dynamic changes over 2, 4, 6, and 8 seconds. You can release the key at any time, and the adapted release samples will trigger automatically. There's a Patch with two octave - tuned timpani for a powerful and full sound. We've provided a Preset that combines all Patches of Synchron Timpani I and II, allowing easy switching between medium and soft mallets. If Synchron Percussion I isn't installed, use the 'Soft Mallets' Preset. All instruments were recorded with 12 microphones. You can choose from four positions in the Standard Library or seven in the Full Library and mix them in the Vienna Synchron Player. Use the presets as a starting point for your sound creations. Stage A performances were captured in stereo with a Decca tree, and additional arrays were used for 5.1 surround and Auro 3D 9.1. The Standard Library has 11,252 samples, a 3.2 GB download size, and 12.1 GB installed size. The Full Library has 19,691 samples, a 6.7 GB download size, and 24.2 GB installed size.
Using Synchron Timpani II is quite straightforward. First, install the library on your computer. You can choose between the Standard and Full Library based on your needs. The Standard Library is smaller in size, while the Full Library offers more samples and microphone positions. Once installed, open the Vienna Synchron Player. Here, you can select different microphone positions and mix them to create your desired sound. Start with the provided presets as a base for your sonic creations. When playing the timpani, you can use single hits or rolls. For single hits, there are open and muted variants, and you have 12 dynamic layers to choose from. When using rolls, you can pick between 'Static' and 'Dynamic' rolls. If you want a powerful and full sound, try the Patch with two octave - tuned timpani. And don't forget, you can switch between medium and soft mallets easily using the Preset we've provided.
