The Choptones Supercab IR Library features a Mesa Boogie 2x12 Horizontal cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. The Bogie 2x12 V30 offers an extensive capture with over 300 IRs, created using 12 microphones, 8 - 16 positions per mic, and multiple Mic preamps. This cabinet has a straight front, closed - back, and is made of Marine Grade Baltic Birch plywood, known as the legendary 2x12 Recto Cab. The Celestion Vintage 30 speakers are great for handling power and overdrive, delivering a warm low - end, rich mid - range, and detailed top - end. The captures were done with a motorized mic stand for consistency. The microphones used include AKG C414, Audio Technica 2035, Audix i5, and more. Each microphone was moved to four horizontal positions and two distances, and some were measured off - axis. All measurements were repeated with two different Mic preamps. This library is designed for the TH - U Supercabinet, allowing you to graphically browse IRs, blend multiple IRs for custom tones, create new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, and export crafted IRs in .wav format for major hardware modelers and software IR loaders.
Using this Overloud SuperCabinet Library is easy. First, make sure you have the TH - U Supercabinet installed. Then, load the library into it. You can graphically browse through the IRs to find the tones you like. Try blending multiple IRs to create your own unique guitar tones. The Multiband mode is a great way to compose new cabinet tones. When you're happy with your crafted IRs, export them in .wav format and use them with your favorite hardware modelers or software IR loaders.
