The A-Pian is a sample library of an old French Gaveau grand piano. Gaveau, founded in 1847 in Paris, was once one of France's top three piano manufacturers. This 1960 - built 'crapaud' (a bit smaller than a baby - grand) has a unique sound. Its bright tone and rich inharmonicity in the bass are due to the short strings. This was our first try at innovative piano sampling, aiming to reduce size while keeping key elements. The library comes with the UVI Workstation 3 (v3.1.6 or later) for free, so you don't need to buy an expensive sampler. Features include 820MB uncompressed (107Mb lossless - flac compressed) with around 232 samples, 3 velocity layers for sustain and release, pedal down resonance and true pedal action, key noise samples, automatic sustain pedal noises, and an advanced UVI script for an easy - to - use yet powerful interface.

Using the A - Pian sample library is straightforward. First, make sure you have the UVI Workstation 3 installed, with a version of 3.1.6 or later. You can easily access it through the included UVI script's simple interface. When you're using different velocity layers, experiment with them to get the most out of the piano's dynamic range. For the pedal effects, the library automatically triggers the sustain pedal noises for a more realistic experience. As for maintenance, keep your software updated to ensure compatibility and access to any new features. Also, since the library is stored digitally, make sure your storage device is in good condition and has enough space. When you're not using the library, it's a good idea to back it up regularly to prevent data loss. That's about it! Enjoy creating beautiful music with the A - Pian.
