The Choptones Supercab IR Library is a must - have for guitar enthusiasts. It's crafted by capturing an Orange PPC212 2x12 cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. This is an in - depth and systematic capture. We used 12 microphones, each placed in 8 to 16 positions, along with multiple Mic preamps, resulting in over 300 IRs. The Orange PPC212 V30 cabinet, made of solid Birch plywood with a straight - front and closed - back design, offers fat and well - defined overdriven tones and crystal - clear cleans. The Celestion Vintage 30 speaker, a legend in the guitar world, handles power and overdrive like a champ. It combines an old Celestion 'H' magnet with a new cone and coil, delivering warm low - ends, rich mid - ranges, and detailed top - ends. The captures were done using a motorized mic stand for consistent measurements. Microphones like AKG C414, Audio Technica 2035, and many others were used. Each microphone was moved to four horizontal positions and two distances, creating eight IRs per mic. For some mics, we repeated the measurements off - axis (45 deg). All measurements were repeated twice with two different Mic preamps: a Neve 1073 and a German preamp. This library is made for the TH - U Supercabinet. With it, you can graphically browse the IRs, blend multiple IRs for custom stereo guitar tones, compose new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, and export your crafted IRs in .wav format for use with major hardware modelers and software IR loaders.
Using the Choptones Supercab IR Library is easy. First, if you have the TH - U Supercabinet, just open it and start graphically browsing the IRs in the library. You can mix and match different IRs to create your own unique guitar tones. To blend multiple IRs, simply select the ones you like and use the blending options provided. The Multiband mode is great for making new cabinet tones. Just play around with the settings until you get the sound you want. When you're happy with your crafted tones, export them in .wav format.
