Product Detail

The Choptones Supercab IR Library is crafted by capturing a Choptones Custom 1x12 cabinet with Rola Celestion G12 - 50 Yellow Frame speakers. These vintage - style speakers offer warm tones from years of playing, perfect for classy mid - gain sounds. The Chop 1x12 RC G1250 is a comprehensive capture. We used 12 microphones, with 8 to 16 positions for each, and multiple Mic preamps, resulting in over 300 IRs. The cabinet is made of solid Birch plywood, featuring a straight front and closed - back design. The captures were done with a motorized mic stand for consistent measurements. The microphones used include AKG C414, Audio Technica 2035, and more. Each microphone was moved to four horizontal positions and two distances, creating eight IRs each. Some measurements were repeated with the microphone off - axis (45 deg). All sets were measured twice with two different Mic preamps: a Neve 1073 and a German preamp. This library is designed for the TH - U Supercabinet, allowing you to graphically browse IRs, blend multiple IRs for custom stereo guitar tones, create new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, and export your IRs in .wav format for major hardware and software use.

Using this library is a breeze. First, make sure you have the TH - U Supercabinet software installed. Once installed, you can start graphically browsing through the IRs in the library. To create your own unique guitar tones, try blending multiple IRs together. You can also use the Multiband mode to compose new cabinet tones. When you're happy with your creation, export it in .wav format to use with other hardware modelers or software IR loaders. As for maintenance, keep your software up - to - date to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. When handling the virtual IRs, avoid over - manipulating them as it might distort the sound quality. Also, make sure your computer has enough storage space to save your custom - crafted IRs.
