Product Detail
The Choptones Supercab IR Library is crafted by capturing an Ada 2x12 cabinet with Celestion G12S - 50 speakers. It offers over 300 IRs through an extensive and systematic capture process. We used 11 high - quality microphones, each placed in 8 to 16 positions, and multiple mic preamps. This library recreates the amazing and balanced tone of the 80s and 90s cabs, a dream for old guitar tone lovers. The 50 - watt Celestion speaker, a perfect match for the '80s Ada 2x12 cabinets, provides a boost in the high - mids. The captures are made with a motorized mic stand for consistent measurements. This library is designed for the TH - U SuperCabinet. With it, you can graphically browse IRs, blend them, create new cabinet tones in the unique Multiband mode, use IRs in the software, and export them in .wav format, which is compatible with software IR loaders and major hardware modelers. The microphones used include AKG C414, Audio Technica 2035, Beyerdynamic M160, etc. Each microphone was moved to 4 horizontal positions and two distances, generating 8 IRs per mic. For some, measurements were repeated off - axis (45 deg). All measurements were repeated with two different mic preamps: a Neve 1073 and a German preamp.
Using this Overloud SuperCabinet Library is easy. First, if you have the TH - U SuperCabinet software, open it. Then, you can graphically browse through the library to find the IRs that suit your taste. You can blend different IRs together to create a unique sound. Try out the Multiband mode to craft new cabinet tones. To use an IR in the software, simply select it. If you want to use it with other software or hardware, export the IRs in .wav format. As for maintenance, keep your software and hardware updated to ensure compatibility. When handling the data of the library, make sure to back it up regularly to avoid data loss. Also, follow the manufacturer's instructions for the TH - U SuperCabinet software and any hardware modelers you use.
