Product Detail

The Choptones Supercab IR Library is a must - have for modern rock enthusiasts. It captures the sound of a Marshall 1960A 4x12 with Rola Celestion G12 - 80. This library is the result of an extensive and systematic capture using 11 microphones, with 8 to 16 positions for each microphone and multiple Mic preamps, giving you over 300 IRs. The cabinet, made of solid Birch plywood with a slanted front and closed back, is a common choice for a perfect modern rock tone. The iconic 80s G12 - 80 speaker, produced for only two years, offers high volume with fatter low - end and mid - range compared to other Celestion speakers of the era. The captures are done with a motorized mic stand for consistent measurements. Made for the TH - U Supercabinet, this library allows you to graphically browse IRs, blend multiple IRs for custom stereo guitar tones, compose new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, and export your crafted IRs in .wav format for use with major hardware modelers and software IR loaders. The microphones used include AKG C414, Audio Technica 2035, and more. Each microphone is placed in 4 horizontal positions and 2 distances, with some measurements repeated off - axis (45 deg), and all measurements are repeated with two different Mic preamps: a Neve 1073 and a German preamp.

Using this Overloud SuperCabinet Library is easy. First, if you have the TH - U Supercabinet, just open it up and you can start graphically browsing through the IRs in the library. To create your custom guitar tones, use the blending feature to combine multiple IRs. For a more unique sound, try the Multiband mode to compose new cabinet tones. When you're happy with your crafted IRs, export them in .wav format to use with other major hardware modelers or software IR loaders. As for maintenance, keep your software updated to ensure compatibility and the best performance. Also, make sure to store your exported IR files in a safe place so you don't lose your custom tones. And don't worry about the technical details of the captures, just focus on having fun creating amazing guitar sounds.
