Product Detail
This is an official Jensen IR library based on the 8-inch C8R, 25W ceramic speaker from the Vintage series. We've systematically captured a Jensen C8R AlNiCo speaker from the Vintage series in two different cabinets - a 1x8' open back cabinet and a 1x8' closed back cabinet - both in original and remastered versions, giving you a total of 1152 IRs. Developed with a Jensen Speakers product specialist, it recreates an authentic playing experience. The C8R in the Jensen Vintage series is a great little speaker. It produces a solid, compact tone despite its size. It's super versatile, originally designed for small home and student amplifiers, but it can also transfer amazing tones to tape. Vintage Fender Champ amplifiers with the C8R are loved by many players as great studio tools. To offer more tonal options, we captured the C8R in a vintage open back 'combo' style cabinet and a custom closed back cabinet for more low - mid punch. This library also includes a remastered version of all IRs. Vintage Jensen speakers were for clean tones, with a bright treble response. In modern high - gain tones, this bright treble can be too much. So, the remastered version has a warmer, less prominent top - end, suitable for contemporary applications. The library is made for TH - U Supercabinet. You can graphically browse IRs, blend them, create new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, use IRs in the software, and export them in .wav for software IR loaders and major hardware modelers. During the capturing, we used many microphones like AKG C12, AKG C414, etc. Each microphone was moved to 4 horizontal positions, 2 distances, and 2 angles, creating 16 IRs per mic. All measurements were repeated for each cabinet. The IRs are phase - aligned and can be blended without phase cancellations.
Using this library is a breeze. First, if you have the TH - U Supercabinet software, you can easily access it. Open the software and start graphically browsing through the IRs in the library. You can pick the ones you like and blend them together to create your unique cabinet tones. The Multiband mode is really cool - it lets you craft new and exciting sounds. When using the IRs in the software, just select the one that suits your needs. If you want to use them in other software or hardware modelers, you can export the IRs in .wav format. Now, for some things to keep in mind. Make sure your software or hardware is compatible with the .wav format when exporting the IRs. Also, when blending the IRs, take your time to find the right combination that gives you the best sound. As for maintenance, since this is a digital library, there's not much physical maintenance. But it's a good idea to keep your software up - to - date to ensure smooth operation and access to all the features of the library. If you have any issues, check the software's official website for updates and support.
