Product Detail

The Choptones Supercab IR Library features captures of a Peavey 5150 4x12 cabinet with Peavey Sheffield 1200 speakers. The Pivy 5051 4x12 SHEF offers over 300 IRs, thanks to a systematic capture using 12 microphones, 8 - 16 positions per mic, and multiple Mic preamps. This slanted - front, closed - back cabinet made of solid Birch plywood is a perfect match for the iconic 5150 head, delivering amazing high - gain tones. The Sheffield 1200 speakers, inspired by EVH's favorite Greenback, pair perfectly with the 5150 head and have a powerful voice for high - gain. Captures were done with a motorized mic stand for consistency. The session used microphones like AKG C414, Audio Technica 2035, etc. Each mic was moved to four horizontal positions and two distances, creating eight IRs per mic. Some mics had off - axis (45 deg) measurements repeated. All measurements were repeated with two different Mic preamps: Neve 1073 and a German preamp. This library is made for the TH - U Supercabinet, enabling you to graphically browse IRs, blend multiple IRs for custom stereo guitar tones, compose new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, and export crafted IRs in .wav format for major hardware modelers and software IR loaders.

Using this Overloud SuperCabinet Library is easy. First, if you're using the TH - U Supercabinet, you can graphically browse through the IRs in the library to find the tone you like. To create a unique sound, blend multiple IRs together. If you want to get really creative, use the Multiband mode to compose new cabinet tones. When you're happy with your crafted tones, you can export them in .wav format to use with other major hardware modelers and software IR loaders. As for maintenance, make sure your computer or device where you store the library is protected with anti - virus software. Keep the library files organized in a dedicated folder so you can easily find what you need. Also, always back up the library to avoid losing your favorite tones in case of a device failure.
