Product Detail
The TAF Supercab IR Library is crafted by capturing a Hughes & Kettner Statesman 1x12 cabinet with Eminence RockDriver Cream speakers. Andy from TheAmpFactory says it was his go - to amp back then. It may not be the rarest or the best, but it has a unique sound that people love. The speaker is very detailed, with great upper mids, a polite tone bordering on country rock, and it can handle any style. It's also perfect for clean sounds, with a beautiful sparkle in the 2k range. The captures were done using a motorized mic stand for consistent measurements. This library is designed for the TH - U Supercabinet. It allows you to graphically browse IRs, blend multiple IRs for custom stereo guitar tones, compose new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, and export your crafted IRs in .wav format for major hardware modelers and software IR loaders. The specifications include Eminence RockDriver Cream speakers from a Hughes & Kettner Statesman 1x12, a Neve 1073VR mic pre, no pre - EQ, and active HPF/LPF. The IRs were captured with 14 different microphones, each moved to four horizontal positions and two distances, resulting in 8 IRs per mic. All IRs in the library are phase - aligned, so you can blend them without phase cancellations.
Using this Overloud SuperCabinet Library is easy. First, if you have the TH - U Supercabinet, you can start by graphically browsing the IRs in the library to find the tone you like. Then, you can blend multiple IRs to create your own custom and huge stereo guitar tones. You can also use the unique Multiband mode to compose new cabinet tones. Once you're happy with your crafted tones, you can export them in .wav format for use with all major hardware modelers and software IR loaders. When handling the IRs, since they are phase - aligned, you don't have to worry about phase cancellations when blending. As for maintenance, keep your software and hardware up - to - date to ensure compatibility. Also, store your exported .wav files in a safe place to avoid data loss. Remember, the different microphone captures give you a wide range of tones, so feel free to experiment with different combinations to find your perfect sound.
