Product Detail
This is an official Jensen IR library based on the 15-inch C15N, 35W ceramic speaker from the Vintage series. The C15N, a sibling of the P15N from the Blackface era, is a powerful 15-inch speaker with an unusually open sound. It has a strong presence across the full frequency range. It's highly efficient, delivering dynamic, high-headroom, and punchy tones from bass to treble. It's a top choice for pedal steel and blues players and was commonly used in Pro and Vibrolux amps in the 60s, as well as in the low-frequency drum of Leslie 122 and 147 amplifiers. Housed in a vintage-correct medium-sized 1x15 cabinet, its full-bodied tone is realistically captured by Overloud's recipe using 18 microphones in 16 positions. This library also includes a remastered version of all the IRs. Vintage Jensen speakers were designed mainly for clean tones. Back then, the maximum overdrive was from the amplifier's natural clipping and compression, and perhaps some early fuzz pedals. These speakers were tuned for a sparkly, shimmering treble response with high energy over 6kHz, to pair with the warm circuits and thin, resonant cabinets of the time. The IRs of Vintage Jensen Speakers are bright, clear, and detailed. In the modern world, especially with high-gain tones rich in harmonic overtones, the treble energy can sometimes result in an overly bright, aggressive tone. To expand the applications of these historical speakers, we offer all Vintage Jensen IRs in a 'Remastered' option, with a warmer and less prominent top-end response, suitable for more contemporary, high-gain uses. It's like a virtual 'aged tone' that offers new sounds for every application. The 'Remastered' version effectively doubles all the IRs in the library, opening up new possibilities for players. This library is made for TH-U Supercabinet, which allows you to graphically browse the IRs, blend them, create new cabinet tones with the unique Multiband mode, use the IRs in the software, and export them in .wav format, compatible with software IR loaders and major hardware modelers. The microphones used during the capture include AKG C12, AKG C414, and many others. Each microphone was placed in 4 different horizontal positions, two distances, and two angles, resulting in 16 IRs per microphone. All measurement sets were repeated for each cabinet in the library. All IRs are phase-aligned and can be blended without phase cancellations.
Using this Overloud SuperCabinet Library is quite straightforward. First, if you're using it with the TH - U Supercabinet, just open the software and start graphically browsing the IRs in the library. You can blend different IRs together to create unique tones. The Multiband mode is a great feature to craft new cabinet tones according to your needs. To use the IRs in other software, you can export them in .wav format which is compatible with most software IR loaders and major hardware modelers. When it comes to the remastered version, if you find the original IRs too bright for high - gain tones, switch to the remastered ones for a warmer sound. As for maintenance, since it's a digital library, make sure to keep your computer or storage device in good condition. Regularly back up the library to prevent data loss. And always keep your software up - to - date to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. Also, handle your computer or device with care to avoid any physical damage that could affect the library files.
