Product Detail
The TAF Supercab IR Library features a 1x12 cabinet with Warehouse B&B (Alnico) speakers. Andy from TheAmpFactory calls these speakers 'one of my all-time favorites'. They're creamy, mellow, light, and delightful. Not great for an angry tone, but perfect for a delicate playing style. Like the BLUE, the GOLD is a low-watt speaker that breaks up earlier in the power-stage, ideal for a clean-to-breakup vibe. This library is made for the TH-U Supercabinet. With it, you can graphically browse the IRs, blend them, create new cabinet tones in Multiband mode, use the IRs in software, and export them in .wav for software IR loaders and major hardware modelers. The specs include Warehouse B&B (Alnico) speakers from a 1x12 cab, a Neve 1073VR mic pre, pre-EQ, and active HPF/LPF. The IRs were captured with 14 microphones. Each mic was placed in 4 horizontal positions and 2 distances, resulting in 8 IRs per mic. All IRs in the library are phase-aligned, so you can blend them without phase cancellations.
Using this Overloud TAF Gold SuperCabinet Library is a breeze. First, make sure you have the TH - U Supercabinet software installed. Once it's set up, you can start exploring the IRs. Simply use the graphical browser in the software to find the IRs that suit your style. You can blend different IRs together to create a unique sound. The Multiband mode is a great feature - play around with it to craft new cabinet tones. When you've got the perfect sound, you can use the IR right in the software or export it in .wav format for other software IR loaders or major hardware modelers. As for maintenance, keep your software updated to ensure compatibility and access to the latest features. Also, make sure to store your exported IR files in a safe place. When working with the different microphone positions, remember that each position gives a different character to the sound, so take your time to experiment. And since all the IRs are phase - aligned, you don't have to worry about phase cancellations when blending them.
